Tag: What I'm Using Right Now

I found this tag on the lovely Holly's blog! Since I am often asked which products I use on a regular basis, I figured that this tag would be fun, and helpful for those of you who are curious! I'm going to modify it a bit, and list what I am using right now and what I use everyday; for those categories with more than one product, I'll specify! If I don't, it means I use it now and everyday.

Shampoo - Joico K-PAK Shampoo

Conditioner - Joico K-PAK Reconstructor (everyday) & Frederic Fekkai Colour Care (now since my Joico is empty!)

Hair Mask - Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment

Styling Products - Joico Daily Leave-In Detangler, Frederic Fekkai glossing creme (after showering), Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid (to prep my hair for flat ironing/curling) L'Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray (now and everyday)

Body Wash - Softsoap Pomegranate and Mango & St. Ive's exfoliant (now and everyday)

Body Moisturiser - St. Ive's intensive body lotion for dry skin (amazing!)

Anti Perspirent - Dove in Baby Powder

Fake Tan - Clarins Instant Gel (now) & SiennaSol extreme (usually)

Makeup Remover - Noname baby wipes!

Cleanser - Dermalogica Ultracalming cleanser

Exfoliator - Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

Primer - Smashbox Original primer

Foundation - Bare Minerals Classic foundation in Golden Fair (everyday) & Medium Tan (now)

Concealer - I have just been using my foundation since I am wearing self tanner, which kind of acts as a foundation I find. Usually I use the MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer in NC15

Powder - Bare Minerals Mineral Veil

Blush - NARS in Orgasm, MAC in Peachykeen

Bronzer - NARS in Casino

Highlighter - Bare Minerals Natural Light

Eyebase - Urban Decay's Primer Potion or MAC Shadestick in Beige-ing

Eyeshadow - Varies!

Eyeliner - NYX Black eye pencil

Curler - Shu Uemura

Mascara - Maybelline "The Falsies" (now) & Diorshow (before I bought The Falsies)

Lipstick - Varies daily, but I have recently become obsessed with the Maybelline Colour Sensational lipsticks!

Gloss - I have been sticking with lipsticks lately!

Nail Varnish - As a base coat, Sally Hansen Continuous Treatment; the colour changes almost daily, but I am wearing OPI's "Sand In My Suit" right now!

Taylor Swift @ CMT Music Awards Make-Up

The photo to the left is of Taylor Swift at this year's CMT Music Awards. For the Youtube video tutorial, I tried to duplicate her make-up using similar products and colours. However, I chose not to use the GIANT false lashes she has, simpl

y because I feel that they tend to look very false and "over the top". On Taylor Swift they look beautiful, but she is also being filmed from a greater distance...and she is also a celebrity. haha

If you do decide you want to apply falsies, I'd suggest finding ones (Makeupforever - MUFE has some great ones) that are VERY VOLUMINOUS on the outer corner, but have very few lashes as you move toward the inner corner of your eye. This will keep the contrast between the highlight on the inner corner of your eye, and the intense black of the outer corner.

Keep in mind, however, that MUFE lashes are pretty expensive if you

plan on only wearing them for one night. A more economical choice is to purchase 'regular' lashes from a drugstore, and cut one of them in half. Then just apply them on the outer corner of your eye.
